

Collaboration with Panamá and Colombia (CCMAR, INDICASAT, INVEMAR and ARAP)
Under the framework of collaboration with Panamá and Colombia (CCMAR, INDICASAT, INVEMAR and ARAP), it was presented our work focused on Holothuria inornata “ Biological studies of Holothuria inornata in the Pacific (Panamá): evolution relationships, genetic diversity and phylogeography”, in the 17th Congreso LatinoAmericano de Ciencias del Mar celebrated in Santa Catarina (Brazil) in November 2017. Incorporation of a new PhD student from Iran
Bita Kalvani is an Iranian PhD student working under my co-supervision. She is spending some time (6 months) with us in CCMAR. Previously she worked on Holothuria scabra and Holothuria leucospilota, and now she is inducing maturation on H. arguinensis oocytes using different extracts of radial nervus from males and females, obtaining very interesting results! Field campaign in Cyprus
Since 24th to 31th October 2017, Mercedes Wangüemert took part in a research and field campaign in Cyprus with staff and friends from MCNM (Museo de Ciencias Naturales de Madrid, CSIC) in the framework on the CONcoast project, which is including Spanish, Portuguese and Italian research institutions. Jorge Domínguez and Mercedes Wangüemert attended to LACQUA Congress (Latin American & Caribbean Aquaculture 2017) celebrated in Mazatlán (Mexico) since 7th to 10th November 2010.
